I am checking a Cub of a friends that never flew right. Actually it barely flew it was so bad. I think it is a Great Planes kit. About a 81" span and 48" long. It always flew tail heavy, extremely.
What I need is the specs for all incidence readings. relation of stab to bottom of wing to engine thrust.
Side thrust.
And most importantly CG.
Looking at the specs on the GP ARF it says the CG is some where around 4" from leading edge. I don't know the chord of the ARF but that # won't work on this plane. The chord on my plane is 11". 4" CG would be 36%, that can't be right. And it would be an inch behind the spar. My spar is at 3". Gives me 27%. Sounds about right I think.
We checked the balance of the plane at the spar and with nearly a pound up front it is still tail heavy. Looks like the wing needs to go back about 1/2" in or so. But I can't see anything in the plane for excess weight in the tail.
Any body have the instructions and specs for this plane?
Thanks in advance.
