Hi all,
new member today, what a great site.
Anyway, just took delivery of a World Models Extra 300s , 80" span.
The quality of this artf is unreal.
Question I have is, they recommend an O.S. 160 for it.
It's about 14lb in weight and the book says it
will pull vertical from a prop hang with this engine.
I would like to fit petrol, but equivelant power to the O.S would
mean an engine of twice the weight!!!!
Any advice would be greatfully received.

I have heard of several people using 2.4 to 3.2 engines in this plane. While I have not seen this directly, they say that the combination flies great. I would then suggest something like a ZDZ40 for the best power to weight ratio.

 I put a Brisson 2.4 in mine. It weighed 3lb 10oz with the battery, ignition and muffler. I had to add about 1oz of lead to the tail of the plane. The 2.4 has enough power to any thing you want. I haven"t been disappointed yet.
