Default Porter and Engine - What are YOU using

I am at the point where I can mount one of two engines on my Porter. BTW: It is the 97" version from RC Plane Power.

I have a MVVS 1.6, and a BME 44. I know the 44 will pull it through the roof. I would rather put the MVVS on it as I would like to save the BME for a World Models Extra.

I am wondering how the MVVS would do with this plane. I want to be able to carry lots of candy up in the air, tow gliders and carry skydivers up.

What have you guys put in your Porter?

Flys great with the BGX. Use the 1.6, the 44 is definitely tooo much.

With the BGX and full flaps, it jumps off the ground in about 10 ft, and then I throttle back immediately to just above idle, and putt, putt the plane around at less then 1/4 throttle. It just looks best flying scale that way. The long nose also wants to make it nose heavy, so use the lighter engine.

How much does your plane weigh? I'm guessing maybe 13 lbs.

Default Porter Power...

Mine will fly a week from Saturday.
It weighs13.3 lbs. with a Saito 1.80, 8 servos, 1700 mil pack, stock wheels from my World GS P-51, a GI Joe heli pilot with green jump suit and a helmet with night vision goggles sitting on a bench seat with a joy stick in his hand looking at a full dash and there is a Voltwatch on the former behind his head.

Three blade Master Airscrew in a True Turn spinner and will have international orange grafix that read " US Army Moutain Rescue" or "Air America Moutian Rescue" not sure yet, my grafix maker had to order the orange colored stuff so I'll make up my mind later. The lettering will be outlined in black pinstripe.

My friend has a BME 44 in a Super Stinker and it hovers!
The only drawback is that the engine is a shaker at lower rpm.
I would use the 1.6 MVVS if these two engines are the only choice but you may have your hands full towing sail planes, anything big anyway.

I love to modify but hate to build.
Whadayamean it won't work if I do that???

That sounds great Carlos. I would love to see some pics of the plane and I will send you some when mine is complete.
