Default Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 engine install question

I'm currently assembling a Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 ARF and have a question regarding engine cooling. I'm installing a Saito 100 FA in this plane. Other than the necessary cutout in the cowl to accomodate the cylinder head and muffler assembly I'm not confident that the engine will receive suficient air to be adequately cooled. Should it be necessary to make additional cutouts in the cowl for additional airflow? I'd appreciate some feedback from experienced modelers who've dealt with similar engine cooling issues. Thanks!

I cut a rather large hole out on the bottom of the cowl. I figured it was better to error on the side of safety.

I agree cut the bottom to be sure. Nothing like a deadstick on a bipe. Better to be safe than sorry. Mike

Common rule is three times the exit space as intake. Look at most cowls and you will see fairly large holes at the bottom rear section.

rcmiket...........................I know that this is an old thread, I have the same ARF that I put together this year. How much aileron differential do you have if you have any ?. Nice Ultimate you have there. I added some yellow in the leading edges of the top and bottom wings and also added yellow under the fuse and wings.

Charles.

I didn't on mine, just used a Y harness. Its my Sunday flyer just a dependable fun reliable plane. Although its small its great for practice on IMAC. I'm trying to learn basic and it helps to fly it over and over. It saves wear and tear on my Extra and Christan Eagle
