OPSS! Bingo !!

It is the difficult work on this kit :-)

The follow described work , was done on the RED big decals only .

I first cut them .
Then applied sprayed water and soap mixture on the plane .
Using a soft balsa peace i squished out the water and bubbles !
May appear strange but work fine .
For the other decal I replaced them using my STIKA vinyl cutter .

Thanks Nic,

And the supplied harware was a good standard? It comes with an elevator bell-crank system dosen't it?

I Rossan ,
please do not get person ,
but my name is Nico and not Nick or Nic :-)

About the PREDATOR delivered hardware , is good .
In the box you can find CNC cutter fiber bell crank .
And the elevator system is based on a carbon push road .
About the last , consider that the best is sure a KATO ball bearing
system ...... but the delivered one make the job!
The only problem is that you have to lose few minutes to setting the
exact excursion on the two elevator surfaces .
cheers

Sorry Nico,

By the way, my name is Ross, but my Mother used to call me Rossi!!

Sounds very good. It annoys me when an expensive ARF comes with cheap hardware to save money, then you have to replace half of it, at your expense!!

Can't wait for mine to arrive.

I stumbled across the Predator at Espritmodel.com, and find it very interesting! I have a YS-91 just waiting for an airplane.

Nico and Ross, I would really appreciate it if you would keep me informed on your progress with the Predator. It looks good on the web page, but I imagine you will have some great hands-on info, if you don't mind sharing!

Thanks in advance!

The quality of the kit is one of the best that I have ever seen.
This has been my first kit that I used all hardware, also the instructions are one of the best!
I specially like the elevator carbon fiber pushrod with "T" aluminum piece at the end. You can adjust each halve of the elevator separately.

Mine Arrived!!!!

Very nice. Hardware a very good quality. A little more work needed than comparable Chinese ARFs (E.G Hinges not installed) but I think overall MUCH higher quality of wood and fit. Simple colour scheme means all thos damned stripes don't peel off, but it will still look good with the Decals on.

Nico, what mount did you use? I'm putting a Saito 100 in it, and getting a mount on the little firewall is going to be a challenge.

Also, having glanced at the instructions, they seem to be saying to mount the engine slightley off centre. is that so the down and side thrust put the hub back into the cenntre?

Flown your yet?

Tomorrows project is cleaning up my work-room so I can get started!!

Hi Rossan & all the guys ,
unfortunately I have not jet test fly my PREDATOR :-((
So I can not to get my opinion about :-(
To mount the OS91 SURPASS III I used the original OS
alloy mount re- drilled to fit the clearance .
It is mounted off center to get 2.5 DX degrees .
Te do it I arrived to the extrem Sx . of the firewall !!

Default engine mount

Hi there !

Try a Dave Brown engine mount... or a Protech square based engine mount. I use the Dave Brown one on a 8 cm width firewall.

Cheers,

JYM
