I am looking for some feed on this kit, not so much on quality as it is already on hand. I am mainly looking for engine selection and the pro's and con's of them. Balancing it with a Moki 2.10 compared to a G-38? What is the overall performance with a gasser or a glow engine? Any bad habits, thumbs up or down with this kit. Thanks!

Hi Carey, I am interested in this ARF too. With such a big wing, it looks like you can just about put any engine in it, gas or glow. To me, this plane cries out for a gasser. My choice would be a ZDZ-40 or MVVS 2.15. Now, if only GSP would put this plane on e-bay and drop the price along with the rest of their planes already there, I might think about it.
BTW, Global has a very similar Decathlon ARF, except it has a shorter wing at 86". Length is almost exactly the same.

I may buy this one as soon as they have it in stock. Get those longshoremen back to work, darn it!

A buddy of mine got one already to go last May at Joe Nall. I haven't seen it fly, but he says it does real well on a G38. It's a nice looking model. It was the ARC and whoever had it did a good job on the covering.

I had the ARC--Great flyer-a bit heavy with fabric and paint---go with the G38--I had a 3W 24 and it was enough power, but it needed a ton of nose weight. Another pound of engine would be perfect.

I ordered a ZDZ 40 for mine. I was wondering about the firewall to prop hup clearence. How much do you need. I don't have my plane yet. Was shipped 10/15. I can't wait to see how big it is. Thanks for any info.

TheEdge,
I got mine off of here for about $75 less NIB than from GSP. Why do you ask? Will they change pricing. What is the space that is required from firewall to prop hub? And is the ARF version pretty complete with hardware and all? Thanks for any info. If you have any pictures Please send. [email protected]

Finally the project has took to the sky.
With the 3.2 she fly's beautifully. Of course she fly's big and gentle.
Tracked nicely down the runway at half power and took off in a very scale manner.
Minor trims necassary but it was blowing a gale up on the hill.
No fancy moves as of yet, just flew her about like a big trainer
All up weight is 18Lbs
