Have you had a look at the Ready 2 or the Jupiter, manufactured by ARC (of Italy) I believe. I had my first flight on water with the Ready recently, that was a laugh and a half! They are made from impact resistant plastic and you can order floats that bolt right on.

JBFlier, yup, those are the fellas I was talking about. They are marketed under a different supplier here in the UK, but are the same planes. I have a Jupiter on order, and have flown the Ready 2 both on land and on floats, it goes well if a little underpowered on an OS40 LA. The Jupiter will have an OS52 FS Surpass, which should be even better.
