Atec Models is a relatively new company to the US market, and the web site should be up and running by the end of the week. URL is www.atecmodels.com. We feature a dozen or so RC airplanes in electric and glow categories. We're redefining Almost Ready to Fly with a new concept in ARF: a higher degree of prefabrication making for less time at the bench and more time at the field. The Mustang you mentioned is all fiberglass, prepainted, with a two piece plug in wings (with ailerons and flaps preinstalled). The detail is unbelievable, and so are the flying characteristics.

I did see the same ad but I thought the P51 looked weird , the wheels had strange gear used for the pics , I dont know why you would spend $500 on a supposedly great mustang that is state of the art and neglect a kick off ad detail like the landing gear .The gear looks funkey and so does the wire strut .
The plane may be state of the art but the ad is run of the mill . I would love to see this bird up close and with more detail .

Hi nexgenarf,

Thanks for the reply... sounds like you folks might be trying to take the ARF to the next level. As a Scale Masters Competitor I tend to like more scale looking ARFs, but maybe that’s just me.

I have an idea, since these are so new; you should send me one and let me do a review on the kit for the major magazines and R/C Universe... I am coming to the end of a project and would be happy to review this airplane... what do you think?

Hello everyone,

Thanks for your comments. Rick, we're in touch with the magazines regarding review product, and will have product in the review mill shortly. I suggest you contact your favorite mag about snagging one of these kits for a review. LDM, as for the gear, the wrong gear was shown in the initial ads. Mark it up to rushing things to make a deadline. Future ads will show the correct wire landing gear. We will also offer an optional pneumatic landing gear for this bird as well. As for the ad design, mea culpa. We're new and doing what we can to get the news out. Perhaps when we grow big we can afford a graphics guy to snazz these things up. For now, all our efforts are directed toward producing an quality product that is different than anything else out there.

LDM,

No offense taken. Like any new venture, we're going through the typical start up issues which will be overcome in the very near future. I'm happy to answer any questions you or anyone may have about our products, and will be monitoring this and other sites for questions and comments.
