A Texan is a good place to start. The AT6, after all, was a war bird trainer in full scale. A 40 size version would take your 70 4-stroke and yeald some good performance even with the weight of detail and retracts. War birds are usually heavier and i don't think that the 70 will be enough for a 60 size war bird.

I've got a Giant Scale Planes P-47. The 55" one. The thing will literally fly hands off the sticks when it gets low enough to hit ground effect. I've got an OS 50 in mine.... Chepo mechanical retracts and have a ball with her.

The H9 P-40 is a very easy flying plane. Its very light and lands like a baby. Fly it, you can do it.

I. Ace may be right on the H9 P-40, but the two engines you have on hand would be a little weak for the H9 P-40. Either would work with the GSP 55" P-47. Wide track landing gear makes ground handling a breeze.

The Texan can be a handful on ground handling... narrow stance gear makes them interesting to get off the ground for your first warbird.

The Great Planes P51 would be a good choice for your experience and available engines. Get the kit not the ARF. The kit is a nice flyer. The ARF has different wings and is tricky to fly. [8D]
