Blackhorse (Graupner) Super Air
Hi all i just got a second hand super air with all the radio gear and the engine fitted, only problem is the engine is a OS40LA and im not sure if it is up to the job?? as the plane feels quite heavy. I have a ST45 but this was planned for my next purchase any advice or experience appreciated. Cheers Lee.

RE: Blackhorse (Graupner) Super Air
Hi Lee,
I think your Super Air is goung to be a bit underpowered with the OS 40LA. I flew my first one with an Irvine .40 but it was very limited in what it could do.
My 4th Super Air has an Irvine .53 which is a perfect match, with plenty of grunt for vertical with an 12x6 or 11x7 APC.
I did try an OS .65LA on one which went ballistic, but the added weight made it come in quite hot and I overshot the runway into the rough and broke the fuz in half (the early ones wern't very strong).
As I say, it will fly, but you really could to with a bit more omph!
