You may also wish to look at the Kangke Texas Hurricane, although not an edge it looks just like one, and is a perfect match for a 3.2.
The Aero Edge recomended by Geistware is also an outstanding plane but considerably more work to assemble. Both will be unlimited with a 3.2.

I've been waiting for Dave Patrick's Edge. At 1210 sq's and 74 inch length, I hope it will be just right from my BME 50. I sent an emailed through Dave Patrick's web site (which does not have any info on it), it's supposingly due in November. I sent them these questions:
1. Chief Aircraft is advertising that this plane is due in November. Is this realistic?
2. Are there two color schemes?
3. is this plane capable of handling a gas engine such as a BME 50?
This was their response:
"Hi Yes...Nov looks good, but keep posted on our web site....
You can of course buy from Chief or Us.... and the Moki too.
We have not tried a BME 50, but we designed it to be able.... it has not been proven yet...:-)

With the popularity of the 29% edge, I don't see why Aeroworks came out with a 31% instead of a 29%. 29% meets the limit of my budget in accessories. The 31% means I have to make additional investments.

Geistware, I agree with you completely. I guess 92" sounds better than 85" and the competition is between manufactures. Aeroworks says there new 31% 92-inch span ARF 540 weighs 16-18 pounds. If thats true flight gear will be about the same for both but I think it might be a tad optimistic, and at 18 pounds performance with a 3.2 {IMHO 4.2 would be the min. at this size} will be less than what may be expected when compared to there 15.5-pound 29%. But as with all things time will tell. :^)

I think the best 80" plane is going to be the Hanger9 Cap. If you can find one. The first run sold out fast and it seems everyone who bought one has it sitting on the shelf. There is thread here about it but no flight reports yet.
I would love to see AW arf thier 29% Edge. I had a Giant Scale Planes 80" Edge arf but it was too heavy, altho it flew well, it would pitch up and snap when it got real slow.
The 76 to 78 inch plane just dont have the wingloading for 50cc gas engines IMHO. I have the Sig Sukhoi and it flies well with a BME 50 but its 16lbs and the wingloading is 31oz/sqft.
I think the Hanger9 Cap will be a little lighter on the wingloading.
I would love to see a plane for the BME50 that could get under 29oz/sqft. A good one I think would be a quality Ultimate arf around 65-68 inch wingspan.

JBrannon, you should fly the 78" Texas Hurricane by Super Kraft/Kangke, it will change your mind. and in my opinion will out fly the 80" cap. I have flown both and bought the Hurricane.

I too would like to see a 15-17 lb plane with a wing loading around 25oz/sqft that can use a 2.4 for no 3D flying.

I have the Diablotin Standard. It flies well but requires modifications. Non of the control surfaces are double beveled. So you have to do that yourself.
The Diablotin XL is 499 also.
