Howdy,
I've had my ParkZone P51 for about a week now and have had one pretty bad crash when that tree reached out and grabbed it! I had to replace the wing, prop, prop shaft, firewall, and battery. I asked the RC shop to replace the firewall and shaft as I hadn't a clue what I was doing. I'm beginning to think that perhaps they didn't do it correctly and here's why....
Since that prop shaft replacement, I've had to replace the shaft after every flight due to the white gear at the end being eaten up (the gear teeth). I'm thinking that they either didn't put the bearings or washers in the correct order. Each time, I've replaced the shaft exactly like I've taken it off (still (at that time) thinking they'd' done it correctly). Now I need another shaft!
Can someone please walk me through a schematic of firewall to prop with exactly what goes where (bearings, washers, screws, spinner plate, nuts, etc... also, is there a "top and bottom" when securing the motor to the firewall?
Many Thanks,
Shane
