Default Pacific Areomodels Gee Bee Y 97" Giant

Has anyone seen or flown this plane? I'm very interested in this. But at $700 I'm not sure I want to be the first...

Try this ... http://astro.umsystem.edu/andy/rc/gby/ its good for you. I am sure that the plane will be a real beauty. Pac Aero Model planes are built well.

It's 97" wingspan. You might want to look at the Pacaeromodel.com website. The instruction manual is posted.

That plane is a winner. I have owned mine for years now and it is an absolute joy to fly and look at. The build quality leaves me wondering how the hell they can make any money on these planes.

mine is the 84 inch version but the 97 incher is a scaled up copy.

mine is powered by a Moki 2.10.... a little over the top, a 160 would fly it great. A 2.10 would be a great match for the big one. taxis and takeoffs are straight as an arrow and landings are at a snails pace. Total joy to fly. Let me put it this way, if I lost that plane in a wreck, I would order a new one from the flying field. I wouldnt even wait to get home.

I would go with black and yellow if I got the big one.

Hello (Arne From Norway)

I have this plane too, I want to put a Moki 150 ccm in this plane. If I got trouble with the weight, I think I will put on a Zen G62. But see this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fr4KWMczS5Q Watch in the midle of the movie. Moki 150 radial have a nice sound. My Moki engine will be delivered to me at jan. 15 ,2009.

http://www.airworld.de/Englisch/Index.htm (Klikk: "Gas Engines" and "radial" and finally "Moki 150" ;-)

Have anyone tried this engine on this plane ?

Regards
Arne
