Just starting to break in my ST G40 on my test stand for my new GP S-Sportster on the 4 tank of fuel I noticed the screw that retains / limits/guides the throttle shaft fell out and probably was flung who knows where by the prop.
Any one know of the part No. for this ? My manual says nothing as does ST web site.

There are 2 screws atop the carb. The one that retains the carb barrel is toward the low end needle, the other one has a spring loading and that is for the idle set screw, which has no purpose on a servo driven throttle. I had a similar experience with my GS40, the throttle stop screw "dissappeared", and I also discovered my throttle barrel was moving sideways. Fortunately, I caught it before the barrel retaining screw had completely backed out, I just aligned it, tightened it down good. A spare throttle screw is available, I found one at my LHS for about $1.05. Which one are you missing?

It was the screw that guides the throttle barrel , not the idle stop.
I sent ST a E-mail and got a response back in a few hour later that one was on its way to me.
Great product support!

First off I apologize for hijacking this thread a tiny bit. But it is a very similar topic.
I'm considering buying a new Super Tiger .75 from a guy. He bought it but isn't going to use the engine. However he is using the carb on another ST engine. Any way he is offering to let me have the carb-less engine for $60.
So My questions: Can you order a complete carb or do you have to order it via the seperate parts? Would the total cost be more than the $110-130 I've seen this engine go for?
Thanks.

I have a ST .45 and the idle stop screw is missing as well after
a few flights. Runs just fine without it and without any silicone
so I figure why fix somthing that isnt broken.
I would say just buy a new ST .75 they are $109.99 on Tower
Hobbies. I would venture to say a complete carb kit is almost
$50.00 if you put all of the parts together. So cost the same
but something to be said about a brand new engine out of the
box.

Thanks for the info.
The engine is NIB other than he took the carb for his .61 (I think) after he glitched and augered straight in. I suppose the other carb was a disaster after that. [:@]
On the topic, when you say the barrel set screw, do you mean the screw that sets the carburetor in the throat of the engine or the "barrel" of the throttle? If so, should you lock-tite that screw? I've never done that on my car engines, but maybe it's a good practice?

Dear buddy, the screw that you need have the number 22250445
(SuperTigre Throttle Barrel Screw), and will cost you only .99 cents in Tower hobbies.
I also have a Gs 40 like yours, and it´s a very good running engine, and you will like it very much
great flyings to you

jbracing,
I just went to Tower Hobbies parts store and found what you are looking for. There is no direct
link but go to Tower Hobies parts super store, then SuperTigre engines, then the GS-40, then
the carburetor assembly. Once you have the carburetor page open, in the upper right hand corner
there is something that says "Click for parts list for this item" Once you do that you will see all
of the parts for that carburetor including a "carb screw set".
It costs $1.39
Hope that helps,
Andy

iacolb12, if it were me I would order a $89.99 Tower Hobbies 75 engine and save $5.00. The carb for the ST is listed as being $34.99. In my opinion the Tower 75 engine is the best engine you can get in the size class. Inexpensive, easy to adjust, and gobs of power. The Super Tigers are not a user friendly engine for most flyers. The carb barrel in the Super Tigers have a rough finish and have been known to suddely jam in one position. This can be fixed but the carb design itself makes it hard to get the engine running properly. IF you do buy it, pls keep us posted how it works out for you. Best of luck![8D]
