Just purchased a used Ziroli Zero covered in what appears to be some type of monocote. Is in need of a couple of patches. I've never glassed a plane before but is it possible to strip this off, glass and paint or would I be better off recovering with new monocote?

I am no expert in warbirds whatsoever, but IMO Monokote is better saved for Sport Planes, Trainers, 3D, etc. A Warbird like the Ziroli Zero IMO would be much better served to be glassed and painted, but as I said I am no expert on Warbirds. I guess it depends on how scale looking you want it to be.

You might want to try asking the question in Kit building, warbirds, or the question/answers section for help with glassing if you want to do that. (Edit) Forgot to say, YES you can strip the monokote off no problem and glass. If it was mine, I would glass and paint it for sure.
