I recently purchased the GP Cosmic Little Toni. Very nice plane indeed, Cannot wait until Tower sends me all the parts I need to finish it! I am going to stick a .91s Saito on the nose! The spinner is pretty cool "Larger than I thought".
So now as I sit and wait on my parts for the Toni, I am about to order the Cosmic Wind Minnow. The Minnow looks sort-of like a Fishing Vessel, Not sure why!
I am asking what engine should I order to throw on the Minnow? .91 Surpass II or .91 Surpass w/Pump ?
For those of you that have some information on the Minnow please share! Any photo's of the Minnow would be nice.......
I originally thought of Ordering a Kangke Texas Hurricane, But after getting my hands on the Little Toni I have made it final to just go
a head and Order the Cosmic Minnow & 4-Stroke all at once so I will not have to wait half way through building then get a engine to finish the aircraft!
So I am going to USE a Saito .91S on the Toni, Any ideals on which prop size I should use?

LiMe, Don't get too excited about the Minnow, It's dissapointing. .90 four stroke, .90two stroke are just not enough power. Anything bigger, you might as well fly with the cowl off. Fly's great but it's "mushey" into the banks, and, it's heavier than Toni. Toni and Shoestring are by far a much better plane and performers with those two engines. Just my opinion, I have all three, I'm sure everybody else will say I'm full of beans on Minnow so take it from there. Seeya, MM[&o]

Well, I have been trying to decide on the Minnow now for a couple of days! I am hoping Tower will get my Little Toni replacement parts to me within the next couple of days! This is the first time I have ever had to get replacements and I am not sure how quick they send the parts out. Getting worried!!!!!
The Little Toni in my opinion looks better than the Minnow, Although the Minnow sports a few extra features like the 2-Toned Landing Gear and such! But the Lines of the Minnow makes it profile look alot bigger than the Toni. I can remember back when I started the ARF Racing Thread, I was going to choose between the; Shoestring, Toni or the Rarebear. I ended up buying the GeeBee instead of any of my original 3 choices. I am by far happy with the GB. It is still in the BOX NEW, I only applied the Decals.
Last week I finally went back to one of my original 3, And picked the Toni and got it last week from Tower! Now after seeing the beauty of this plane I am trying to decide for another ARF Cosmic to buy!
Give me your opinions plz, The Shoestring, Rarebear, or the Minnow!

Nice review there Dick. Thanks for the link. Good job as always.
Folks that I know flying the Minnow so far have reported basically the same info to me. Most of the 'issues' were with cosmetics and some numbers, rather than with phyical construction or flying qualities. So this seems to be a pretty good bird.
Thepilots flying with the jett SJ-90L "toni" muffler setup in the minnow (same arrangement fits perfectly) have noted it is fairly quick, but its not a rocket ship. Not too much different than the Toni speed wise. A 12x8 or 12x9 prop seems to be prefered. With the SJ-90LX the 11x9 or 12x7 seems to work best. Slows for landing real well, good top end - and has nice aerobatic capabilities as well

Hey,
Go with the minnow. I have one now and it is sweeeettttt. I have a O.S. 91 2-stroke w/ a tuned pipe. I turn a 10x12 prop and speeds excess of 120 mph. If you loose an engine no problem, it takes it a min. to slow down but turns into a big glider. Grease the landing and your fine. Beautiful plane and holds true. I also use a 14x8 on it and it looks like it's going to rip the wings off on going vertical. Amazingly it handles aerobatic maneuvers well too. Use your best judgment.

hey there guys; my jett 90 L definitely would not properly fit my minnow. I had to use an additional 1/2'' toni spacer setup from jett engineering. the muffler hit the bottom of the fuselage just using the toni setup only. you better plan on purchacing one additional spacer. the angle was not the problem. the problem was the spacer thickness only.

I am flying a Shoestring with a Tower Hobbies .75/Slimline pitts turning an APC 12-8 @ 11,400.
The plane flys like it is on rails.
Has anyone actually flown both the Shoestring and the Little Toni, or Minnow. My Shoestring is only 7-1/2 lbs, were the Minnnow comesin about 8-1/2lbs.[X(] Will a .61 with pitts muffler fit inside the Cosmic Wind cowling, or do you have to cut clearance holes.

bob, that is correct. I believe the LX (shorter gold muffler) will fit perfectly with the toni extension kit only. acyually if dub offered a 1/4 '' spacer the 90L would fit the minnow without problems. my spacers consist of 3 pieces. just 1 additional 1/2'' spacer. i broke the engine in on a 11x5 rich at approx. 14,800. I ran only 2 tanks of fuel though. it would peak approx 15,400. I have not ran it with the preferred 12x6 benchmark prop that you previously reccomended.

Sounds like you are on the right track. The 12x6 will give you an initial baseline. With the added extention, try a 12x8 or 12x9. Pull the engine down to around 13,000 rpm.
