Hi Everybody,
How is the ARF & RTF? & Why it is like this?
I mean how much construction of kit must over for ARF & RTF ?
After receiving how much time of work is in it?
It comes covered with iron on film or not?
How much accessories it includes?
If big in size need it in 2 part wings or single?
weather tailplane & fin attached or not?
Hinges done or not?

How do you pronounce the name of his town?
I think he wants to start a thread about any questions you might have about ARF's and RTF's. Problem is, though, that's not a thread, it's a forum, and we already have one of those

We got a lot of Indians in Malaysia so I guess I can say that he is asking us to bring out problems faced by a certain ARF/RTF and what the solution is for the problem. Yeah ... the town is pronounced as Nagpurmaharastra.
Actually its Naag-pur-ma-hah-ratsa

Ok,,, thanks tIANci !! I guess I'll start. "err,,, I hope I really understood the question,,, but here goes."
TIME: Well,,, that is a good point that many of us must cope with everyday. Those with 10 hour work days , kids, wife, yards to mow and animals to feed don't have much of it. Myself,, I work out of my home building and repairing computers. When waiting on a download or update for a new build or just installing a new operating system there are several long waits during the process as many of you know. I'll use that time to work on a plane then go back to the PCs. Instead of watching tv I'll try to come in here (RCU) and read up on the latest RC news, etc. Or use that time to work on a plane.
ARFs and RTF planes: Ahh,,, how am I doing here so far guys ? Am I completely wrong about the question ? "DUH"
Anyway,,, I see ARFs getting easier to assemble with higher quality parts and better inspection prior to shipping.
The Ready To Fly planes will increase in numbers as the market see's increased sales due to the ease of use and lack of modeling experience needed by the average RC hobbiest just getting started or those without extra time to spare.
"Now,,, if everything I wrote above has nothing to do with the original question...... I'll be in the other room gluing something together."

In order to clarify what you seek, please describe your experience in radio control flying. That is, have you flown solo or not? Have you flown a low-wing plane? Have you flown an aerobatic plane?
Also, please describe your building experience. That is, have you built a kit? Have you put an ARF plane together?
Please use complete sentences. Then revise your questions, and it may be that more people will be able to contribute to your thread.
Best wishes,
Dave Olson

Scar - as funny as this is let's remember not everyone speaks English and see if we can help this guy out.
I mean how much construction of kit must over for ARF & RTF ? This I cannot understand
After receiving how much time of work is in it? Depends, new Hangar 9 Extra 260 is big but I think not much time is needed, about only 2-3 hours to finish plane (NO controls and NO Engine Mounting time included)
It comes covered with iron on film or not? If called ARF or RTF then MUST be covered, if not covered is called ARC
How much accessories it includes? all that is needed for the plane and of DECENT quality
If big in size need it in 2 part wings or single? if big then 2 parts
weather tailplane & fin attached or not? Cannot attach, hard to ship out in boxes
Hinges done or not? Better ready for glue only, let buyer do it. Sometimes if smaller plane then please do it at factory

Actually you guys just missed his point. He did clarify.
He is asking at what point does and ARF become an RTF.
If you are just discussing build levels, imho, an ARF has almost all the hardware to build and comes in these pieces:
Wing halves, covered and hinged, may or may not be glued
fuselage, covered, canopy may or may not be installed
tail feathers, covered and hinged, may or may not be glued
landing gear
cowl
Included hardware is engine mount and stuff to connect servos to the control surfaces, none installed
An RTF would be the above with all the control stuff mounted already and comes with the radio and engine.
All you should have to do with an RTF is glue the wing halves together and fuel it up. imho

Well done tIANci !!! Nice translationship. I see now where I went wrong in my answers. For example:
Remove the adverbs and just use the nouns to get your basic layout of the sentence. Then carefully mix 2 parts Testors with 4 parts laquer thinner and stir vigorously until blended nice and thick. Quickly cover cup with lid or plastic wrap. Next , open new 1/5gal bottle of straight bourbon whiskey. Pour into one 8oz Flintstones glass. Add 2 ice cubes for flavor.
CA your left hand to the work table while holding the glass in the right. Right as the CA kicks and starts that sharp, painful burning sensation on your palm flesh...... throw the entire glass of bourbon down your gullet and swallow. While fighting the automatic gag response from the whiskey, remove the lid from the now hot kicking glue and inhale 9 times while directly over the container.
You'll see for yourself how it all comes together. How simple ABCs can be decoded and translated by using basic science and RC modeling technology.
I might be sending you a few of my business emails to be translated in the future. Mainly local rednecks and a few inbred hillbillies. Nothing you couldn't handle sir.
Photo below is a good example of a PC customer of mine and his wife while at the local swimming hole. I think she's the sharpest exacto knife of the two. She's from Finland I think.
There are too many problems but no solutions. To eliminate why, problems & ????? lets start discussion on : -

Sounds like a great house gig over the winter tIANci !!
One question before I sign the papers though.............. "Is your flying field a paved or grass strip ?"
Also,,, what time will we eat lunch ? I like to take a nap after lunch.
(model mfg.,,, please know that we are not making fun of you. Anything you read here is simply in bad taste and the same would be posted about any one of us as well. And believe me,,,, it has been. At the field I fly at everyone is a target for teasing. And the RC pilots there have very good memories.) Doh~~~~~~~~

Sturtz - Our flying field is not paved and has no grass, its a nice flat dirt field, but there is another about 30 miles away that is a nice huge grass flied with a paved runway. You will be allowed to go there on weekend from 1500 hrs to 1900 hrs. Lunch is usually served at 1300 hrs and you will be allowed a 30 mins nap.

model mfg - i think this whole ARF forum is dedicated to answering ARF questions. no need to start another generic one.
india isn't the best place to fly models. i've been to a hobby shop in calcutta (didn't find one in delhi) and i wasn't impressed. i'd be surprised if you could get any real planes out there let alone worry about ARFs!!! :-)

I am guessing he is trying to conduct some sort of 'survey' for a ARF/RTF plane business he is invovled in!!
Well in an attempt to answer the question:
My biggest issue, is the hardware. Either include GOOD hardware, or reduce the price of the plane and include no hardware!! i always end up replacing a lot of the included ahrdware cuz its crap! (or maybe have an optional 'hardware pack' for those who want it)
With pre hinged planes, i think a lot of people have issues with trusting them, so maybe leave the plane unhinged.
Definitly have a 2 peice wing if its big.
and the tail plane can be attached IF the manufacturere can find a way to ship it safely!!
