I have a Thunder Tiger "Tiger Bipe" in need of new cabane struts. During flight the top wing parted the aircraft, luckily the plane was landed safely and there was no damage other than the cabanes (or what was left of them
).
The problem is that the factory has had them on backorder for some time and has no date available as to when they will get more.
I was hoping someone out there that has one of these airplanes would be kind enough to get me the dimensions (and possibly some pictures) on these so that I can make a set of cabanes myself. If anybody can help me with it would be greatly appreciated.
Also, Has anyone else had a problem with these cabanes breaking at the welds like mine has? Thanks, Greg

Does anyone out there know of a supplier who might have these cabanes in stock, or the diminsions of these so I can make my own?
Any help on this would be GREATLY appreciated.
The poor broken plane is sitting in the corner of the garage collecting dust...and I think it's starting to talk to me. I think I'm going nuts from lack of flying, Help! please! :drowning:
Thanks Greg

I may be off base here with this and you've probably already taken care of it by now, but the Tiger Bipe & the old Ace 4-40 Bipe share an awful lot of similarities. You might consider getting a set of plans for it from RCM's plans service; it's number 977 and should have the dimensions for bending up and making a replacement set. I have the old RCM that it was published in and have an old 4-40 Bipe that I purchased second hand but no plans. However, reading through the construction article and looking at the two planes they seem remarkably similar in their design. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Thunder Tiger took the 4-40 Bipe and changed a few details of it to make it their own (especially since they no longer offer the kit) and then offered it as an ARF. Just a thought; hope that it helps someone!

Gust noticed the date on the origional post. I have the same problem. Radio glitch caused mine to stall out and go into the ground and the only damage was to the cabanes. I too wish someone could make the parts available.
i really liked this plane. It had more time on it then anything in my hanger.
