Default tailwheel question for ultra stick lite

i am getting ready to mount the tailwheel i have(ohio products or something) and i am worried about clearance. in the 1st pic it will be fine. in the 2nd while the rudder is sideways the bracket will be hit by the elevator. if i move the whole assembly back so the elevator wont hit the arms of the bracket while the rudder is turned if i give it full down elevator the front edge of the elevator hits the main part of the bracket before the bend. think i should just epoxy a piece of 1/4" ply under the elevator and then screw the bracket to that?

Exacly what I would do.. Just cut a strip and pre drill it and sandwich it and you should clear.. Won't hurt a thing..
