Default H9 ShowTime & OS 1.08

You guys that have (or have seen) this combination...

1. Is there enough room in the cowl for a standard Bisson Pitts muffler? I don't mind doing some whittling to make it fit, but if there simply isn't the space...

2. Does the cowl enclose the head? Thinking of cooling/glow plug access here.

3. What sort of engine mount is supplied? For several reasons, I am usually unimpressed with H9's engine mounts or tanks.

4. Big question... balance. Rudder servo up front w/pull-pull, or in the tail?

I'd appreciate any insight. I"ve just about convinced myself to get one of these, but would like a bit of advance info on fitting my gear. I ALMOST picked up an F90 at the LHS yesterday. Glad now I didn't; the ShowTime looks to be more in line with what I want.

Hmmm... okay, then.

Can anyone tell me what size spinner I need to acquire for this model?

Steve
I cant comment on the 10.8 but it should not be too much more than some of thae larger 4 strokers being used by many members. I have a YS 110 on mine and from the looks there will not be enough room for a pitts style muffler space is limited in the cowl for anything large. I could be wrong so im hoping someone using a 2 stroke chimes in. I have the following setup:

- Rudder servo in fuse on a pull pull

- I used the stock mont and drilled it out for the 110. I also used the stock tank, fits perfectly in the formers used to hold it in place during flight.

hope it helps you and good luck

Matt,
When you used the stock tank did you have to "strap" it for the pressure the 1.10 generates?
Thanks!

I strapped it loosely so it had room to breathe once pressure built up.

One more question if I may?
What did you strap it with?
Thanks!

Thanks, Matt.

I hooked up with PropTop via PM; he has the same set-up I'll be using. You're right about the cowl; one must make a "relief cut" (hole) to accomodate the right front corner of the Pitts muffler.

So, what size spinner? Applying the old calibrated Mark I Eyeball, it looks like 2.75" or 2.5".
