Default Creek Hobbies 540 Edge

I just purchased a Creek Hobbies 540 Edge 73 inch WS. What would be the best gas engine to put on this plane. I can get a Fuji 32 is that to big?

Any other information about this plane would be appreciated.

Jim

I have the Creek Katana.I'm using a 3W-24.Jim at Creek says that anything larger is too much.I'm not sure of the price of the Fuji, but the 3W-24 weighs less and makes more power. If you want to 3D with this plane and are set on a gasser, then I would go with the 3W.You have to keep it as light as possible.Hope this helps.

Default Katana

Hank68,

How do you like the Katana? I can't decide between that or the Y/A Edge 120. I have a Saito 1.80 to put in which ever I choose.

Any info would be great!

Thanks,
Eric

Eric
No flight time on the Katana yet.Hopefully I can get it up before the snow flies here.Working alot of hours and have very little time right now.I need to do a couple of small things to it first. Will post my results.I really like the plane so far though.Should fly and 3D well.

I think it would get the plane off the ground, but the flying would be full throttle all the time just to enjoy it. The planes are very light. I am doing some major MOD's so I can put a Fuji 32 on the front. It should go straight up.

I hope to learn 3d with this plane and go bigger.

The specs are on their web site www.creekhobbies.com Some have one piece wings and some have two piece. You need to check the spec before you buy if that's important to you. The Extra 330 and Staudacher have two piece wings.
