Just curious what engine you all are running in the GP Wagstaff? I haven't ordered an engine yet, but definitely want gas. Any recomendations?
I am considering the BME 50 (good choice?). I'd like to get something that has muffler and ignition for around $500-550.
Thanks!

I have a bme 50 in mine with a mejlik 22-10 prop, it is an ideal set up with all the vertical I need. I toyed around with engine choices and decided on the bme due to advice from this site. beleive me you will be more than impressed with the 50 in the extra.

Several people on the thread mentioned above are flying it and reporting that it fly's great. Just got the engine for mine today so should have it in the air next week.

I'm using a Brison 3.2 on mine. I fly at a field that is approximatly 6000'. I am using a 22x8 zinger. performance is awsome. I expect I am going to go to a carbon fiber 22x10 when it comes in,and expect to have better results.

How do you think it will work with a Brison 2.4?
I may try to use Zinger Pros but the regular Zingers give poor performance.

I agree--I quit using regular Zingers a long time ago on performance planes--Got one on my Sopwith Pup, they are OK for sport use. The Power numbers on the Brison are similar--I would think it would work fine--of course nothing would be as good as my Taurus

Thanks,
I am ready to give up my APC since I can't find a 22x8. I don't think the APC 20x8 will supply enough load to keep the RPM down to around 7200 rpm and keep the thrust up to around 25lbs. I figure that with a 16lb plane, I will need about 25 lbs of thrust minimum.

APC did quit making large props for a while but i believe, because of popular demand, decided to bring some back. You might check out there website or check at your LHS. But i recently saw a 22x10 in the LHS here and i beleive that you can still get the 22x8 and 22x10 also.

I will finish installing all the servos tonight (8 total) and will be making the final installation on the engine tomorrow. Since I will be gone this weekend, I want to get everything done except radio installation and balancing by Friday. For propellers, I purchased several Airwild 22x8 propellers. I will probably try my old Zinger to make sure I have the engine running ok then switch to the NX propeller.

Man that sucks...it says on their website that they are going to discontinue the 21 and larger diameter props!! Something about a failure at the hub....safety first, so I guess I won't be using these!!
