Ahh rest ee

They will spin around and around on the ground with wide open Saito 72 on them. Then you can stop the rotation and take off.

Enjoy,

Jim

I'm finally getting around to building the one I bought a year ago. If you get the Aresti do a search here as, like most ARFs, there a couple of issues that you need to be aware of.

Its a nice plane but please do not call it a pure pattern trainer, its more of a sport plane, better than most but not a true pattern like plane. The plane will be nose heavy with a SA72 if you use the stock mount or even a Dave Brown style one. I had it all stock and I needed about 2oz on the tail. Its a very nice plane and nice to fly for sure. Enjoy it!

My plan for the plane was to use it as an aerobatic trainer. It has the look of what I want/need to get my feet wet on "patterns". I have the ARF now, scrounged it up in CA and had it shipped to me. Yes it's discontinued, not sure why cause it looks like one heckova plane. I am putting an OS .46FX in it. I think that should work fine for what I want to do with it.

I remember reading that they tend to come out nose heavy. Also, some have had the horizontal stab break. It seems that a few were built using wood that was too soft for the job. I checked mine and of course it was one of them. Adding up the two, I simply made a replacement stab from solid sheet balsa. If I gotta add weight, it might as well be useful weight.

Plasticjoe I agree with you, the Aresti is a good looking plane. It's been around a while though so I guess sales dropped off or something.
