Default H9 Twist Engine Question

Hello fellas. I am considering this plane as my next project due to the low price of it (i'm cheap). I was wanting your opinion as to what engine would be good for it. I am currently considering either a Super Tigre 51 or an Evo 46 due to their low prices (once again, i'm cheap). I have had a ST GS51 before and really liked it except for the as mentioned 100 times before, butt ugly muffler. What do you guys think b/w the two. I really don't want to spend the extra grrr for the OS 46AX as the useable hp gain (over the Evo) is negligable.

How will these two engines pull it around and what are your experiences with them?

I would say to get the ST .51. I have had the .45, an Evo .46 (sold it) and have 4 OS .46AXs. They run great, but my Twist was tail heavy with one. The .51 will probably balance it better, run great and last a long time.

It would be nice if they went to the "standard" muffler bolt spacing.

I'd use the Super Tiger .51. You can't bet the price and they have a three year warranty.

I can understand not buying the OS .46 AX if it was twice the price of the ST 51, but most of the STs I've seen are going for around $85 to $90. I bought my OS for $110. I think the OS is well worth the extra $20. The OS 46 AX will also swing an 11x6 prop as well as the ST 51 and sucks down less fuel.

You might consider this combo - the magnum 52xls with an apc 12x4 prop and battery under the fuel tank. It flies well with this combo and the 52 costs about $89. It did take awhile to get the low speed needle set right.

I fly mine with a magnum 52 and the battery behind the wing and it's a rock star..
