I have noticed that many of you have installed a .52 four stroke on the Rascal. Unfortunately my budget did not allow this at this time. Has anyone put a Thunder Tiger Pro .46 on this plane?

YUP. That's exactly what I have on mine.
Awesome plane. Really enjoy it. I like your avatar too!

Default Tight Quarters

well I just finished installing the engine and fuel tank. The TT .46 was a tight fit. I don't know how your was to install but it seems that TT changed the orientation of the needle valve to be on an angle. I wasn't able to put it in with the carb on. I had to cut an oversized hole for the needle valve asembly to finagle the carb into place. I then made an access cover slightly larger than the opening and covered it with white ultracote. all in all it didn't turn out too bad. The four stroke installation looks much simpler.

I sure hated to put a big ol hole in the side for the muffler too. with all that said it still is a really neat plane. I can't wait to fly it.

To make engine removal and installation easier on mine, I trimmed out the bottom of the engine compartment to be even with the inside of the nose formers. Removing this 1/4" of material sure helps!

Running an OS FX .46 in mine now, and it's just awesome.
