Default Icepoint landing gear issues?

A friend of mine has an Icepoint which lost the gear on its first landing at our sod field. He marked it up to ARF construction and braced the gear block in a more conventional way. About a dozen flights later, his "aftermarket" gear mount failed while taxiing off the same field. Now one could say that we have a very rough field, etc., but we don't. No other plane operated off this very same field, ARF or not, has done this. I told him I would ask if anyone on the forum had had experience WITH THIS PARTICULAR MODEL which could be used in the next retro-fit. Thank you for considering the problem, Dzl
