I have been flying for less than one year. I really appreciate the advice that I have received from this site. I have not followed all of the advice for learning, but that is not to say that the advice was not valid. I started with a parkzone j-3 without instruction and was successful. Yes I did have some mishaps, but overall I learned to fly!!! I moved to a Nexstar trainer with an instructor/simulator included and learned to fly glow powered planes. If you can fly at my airfield, you can fly anywhere. I recently purchased a firebird freedom to fly at my house. I live on a golf course and really love to fly without all of the fuss of loading the car, driving to the field, and clean up after words. To get to the point, if you really want a rush (newbie or oldie to rc flight) get a firebird freedom with the night module. The plane is an entry level one plane, but is three channels and is a lot of fun. My second flight was at night on the golf course. The hole behind my house is relatively tight with trees and houses. Night flight is a rush!!! This plane flies much faster than my level three parkzone j-3 (experienced flyers) and is more agile. I even had the nerve to increase the throws prior to my first night flight. Anyone else had this much fun???
