Anyone done the CG on a Magic Extra yet?
I'm using a TT Pro .46 and I'm worried about coming out tail heavy.
Considering all the weight aft of the TE, I'm thinking about waiting until the last minute to drill the engine mounts.

Are you using the TT .46 Pro (Or an engine that weights about the same)? What size/weight battery pack did you use?
I was thinking of using a smaller servo for the throttle control. (the HS81mg). Might as well forget that if the tail is going to be light.
Big question: How does it fly?
Thanks,
R

I am using a tt42gp(15oz), my batt is a 6.2v brick pack (9oz), and I am using Hitec HS625MG all the way around, except throttle (hs422). And it flies great!! No complaints in any department. With the tt42gp it pulls vertical forever, so I couldn't imagine it with the 46pro! Should be a great little 3d'n machine....

WOW! Maybe I should have ordered the Pro .36 TT
Were your firewall bind-nuts already installed? Alinement okay?
What did you think of the firewall bolts and the wing hold-down hardware? Mine seemed as soft as brass.

You know, I did think the hardware was pretty cheap too. Nothing a little trip and about six bucks can't fix. Better safe than sorry. But with the modeltech's I have found that the hardware is less than par. I didn't have a prob with the blind nuts. Aligned perfect. I also use adjustable engine mounts so if it was off a little it really wouldn't have mattered.

I was thinking about a Dale Brown cirular mount, but it's so tight in there, I'm not sure it would fit.
I posted a picture here somewhere of my engine sitting on the stock mounts and there really isn't 1mm to spare.
Thanks for the info. I can not wait to fly this baby!

LOL....It is a fun, throw in the truck, go out for an hour or 2, go home type plane. But you think that's bad, I am thinking about picking up the H9 33% Sukhoi w/a da100!! Either that or there is a Carden 30% Extra 330 w/a sachs 3.2, all jr digi's, smoke, the whole nine yards less reciever. I can pick it up for 1120 right now. That's less than the price for the DA100. Just that 33% SU-31 is just soooooo sexy!!!
