New Staggerwing ARF

My Feedback: (1)
At my LHS today, the owner showed me a DVD from Great Planes, advertising new stuff soon to be released. They're coming out with a 1.40, yes ONE POINT FOUR-OH size Staggerwing Beech ARF, marketed under Top Flite Gold brand. The engine they had in it was an OS 1.40 2-stroke. Has a fiberglass fuse, tail control horns and linkages are hidden, has optional retracts with full LG doors, retractable tail wheel, also has doors. Color of the one they showed was a deep red, very nice color. Oh, pilot figure is included. Didn't have a release date or price. My guess is it ain't cheap. Tremendously good-looking model, couldn't get a feel for wingspan, nothing to compare to for scale, but my guess, considering power requirements, would be about 75-85 inches. One of the cool things was that the lower wing roots are part of the fuse, and the landing gear is mounted there, no need to have all the airline fittings for when you remove the wing halves for transport.
I'll bet a G-38 would be nice in it.

Here's the latest:
Question 3- What happened to the Staggerwing ad on the tower web site? Is that
one being delayed also?
Answer: "The product is not delayed. This product is
not going to delivery until this summer and the information was never to
have been released on the website. The fact that it was was a mistake
so it was taken off the website."

Well, wadda ya know. The Staggerwing is back in the Tower Hobbies listing.
According to the ad, it will be available "Late June".
I hope they mean June 2006!
