it flys really nice but the quality is not top grade. It has a plastic turtledeck on top and has stick on covering which when cleaned with any kind of cleaner the color comes off partially but other than that it really mimic's a larger pattern plane.Tim.

I own a Hobbico Spectrum and put in 32 flights before putting it aside for the winter. The covering material is cheesy, but the plane is a very good design for pattern purposes. It flies great with a GMS on the nose, a perfect match which gives great vertical.
The spectrum, However, has one very serious flaw, and i wonder how many other guys have had the same problem. I did not put in retracts. The fixed landing gear has broken on one side or the other an incredible eight times!! And I am a pretty good pilot, having at one time flown Expert Pattern.
I cpmtacted Hobbico on this and they sent me a new wing. The problem is that it is identical to the o ne already on the plane, which has a very flimsy landing gear block design. i've tried a number of solutions , but no final fix.
Anybody out there have the problem and come up with a permanent fix?
