2 Months ago I posted a thread about a new Hots arf that may be coming to a LHS near you. I have been working with Steven Santich (Son of original Hots Designer - Dan Santich) about creating a new 3D design based on his plans.
Well, the prototype has been built and flown!

The good news? The plane was freagin AWESOME! Super tight turns, rolled like a drill bit, harriers were outta this world. Flew like it was on a rail.

Bad news? Wings folded performing a hard "Wall" at 50 MPH... Well, I just had to see how much she would take! I cut some corners on the wing thinking I would save some weight... But with a Saito 100.... Well, that pushed it beyond the original wing design.

So now I'm currently building V2 with a MUCH stronger wing design! The new version has hardwood spars, thicker ribs, and a CF tube running through it as well. The new wing design should take some serious punishment!

For those of you who didn't read the original thread, This new Hots variation is based on Dan Santich's Hot Hots. It is a 40 sized plane with a huge following. This new version sports a beefed up wing design and 12" additional span. Quad flaps, and 40% larger throws on Ail, elev, and rud. The fuse has also been slightly modified with stronger bracing (for those wild 3D stunts).I have also modified the nose/firewall to accept a larger engine and fuel tank.
Hopefully within the next year (after design testing etc) we're going to try and have an ARF available.
