Default World ZERO due in January

Walked into Sheldon's today and got "goose bumps" when I looked up to see hanging from the ceiling a production model (not prototype) of the new World "GS" Jap ZERO.
Beautiful glass fuse and cowl with lines and rivet detail. Has built in retracts but I don't know if they have been improved.
Has flaps but their not "split", I think ZERO's had split flaps?
The only thing is they still have that (no offense Mickey) "Mickey Mouse" tail wheel on it like the P-51.

I'll take some pictures of it tomorrow but still don't know how to post them on RCU.

Is this a 180 size Zero, like their GS Mustang?

Here are the pictures taken by Carlos Murphy:

Too bad the GS Zero is not in the gray/white naval scheme.

Do you have the dimension, like wign span, length, wing area, and weight? I might just have to get a radial 4-stroker for it!!!

And it will probably retail for $500, like the GS Mustang does.

OMG.

Wonder if they'll do a Spitfire next?

Default Spitfire

World is coming out with a 60 size 63" Spirfire with flaps.
See page 19 in the January 2003 MAN magazine.

I was in Sheldon's today and this thing looks even better in the flesh. These photos don't really do it justice. Better than nothing but not as good as being there. I am personally waiting for the new World Models Spitfire.

According to Quantum Models, this Zero has 80" wingspan, takes 1.60 2-cycle engine, and sells for $499.99.

I wish The World Models would update their website and give us more info on the Spitfire.

Thanks for the link. Hmmm, after looking at the pictures, I don't know about the location of the main wheels. They appear to be too far back from the leading edge of the wing. I think this Spitfire will have a strong tendency to nose over.

Maybe, but look at this picture which shows the angle of the struts:

I would think the angle of the struts would help stop any noseover tendency.

Nice Zero;I'm wondering if it comes with a dummy radial.I would consider putting in a Saito 170R 3cylinder in it also.It looks like it would be a nice fit.I wonder what the weights might be.Under 16-17 lbs maybe?I hope the retracts are of decent quality, then it would be really nice...Steve
