Default hangar 9 cub problem Not So Happy

Okay I have a problem, I broke my wing struts and I cant buy them UNLESS I BUY THE ENTIRE WINGS AND STRUGS AND THE BLACK WING DOWL SUPPORT. I'm not happy. I hope hangar 9 is listening. I Dont think its a good idea to buy the entire WINGS for $95.00 when I only need 1 WING strut and/or the black Wing support Dowl. HELP!\

I love the plane.

Try calling them, bet they do sell them seperately.

Make your own, that's what this hobby is all about anyway. If you can't copy the one you have, get with someone that knows how, then instead of $ 95.00 it will be about 3 - 10 so you can buy your new friend lunch or a beer. ENJOY !!! RED

Is that the new H-9 Cub, the PNP / ARF ? Saw one today at our field, very nice detail. I have the older one, and like it, too, but wish my struts were like yours.

Oh yea I love this plane its flies great. Today i flew the crap out of it doing formation with my friends decatholon and the formation along with the 4 stroke sound brought a crowd. We were both doing touch and goes and for some reason there was a cone deep down on the field and I miscalculated the landing strip and the struts hit the cone and broke. The plane is fine but I have no struts and these struts are actually functional on this plane, without the struts the plane wings will fold. I have to buy the entire WING set for just struts. I dont think thats right. I also lost the wing dowl support but made it out of wood but in order to buy that you gotta buy the entire wing set as well. Shouldent they be sold seperatly?

UPDATE:

i called HORIZONHOBBY.COM UP and I told them about the struts situation that I only need struts I do not need the entire Wings because they are fine and they told me they can NOT sell me the struts alone and that I would have to buy the ENTIRE WING SET just for struts.

BAD BAD BAD.[:'(]

Gotta agree with the earlier posters.

Build one yourself.

Build them, or repair the ones you broke. What are they made out of?

May I suggest you Google places like Lone Star Models and other hobby wood supply houses.
Give them a call and see if they have airfoil shaped spruce sticks or other suitable material as a basis for your new struts.
Good Luck!

Most hobby shops and some hardwares carry airfoil shaped aluminum struts that could probably be used. You may have to do some figuring and maybe splice a couple togeather to get the lenght you need.. The end just looks like a flatened tube end. It doesn't look like a big deal to me.

Can I take your ha ha as meaning you aren't up to the task of making replacements ??? If so that's why I suggested getting someone to help you. ENJOY !!! RED
