Is anyone flying the giant scale Stinger? What do you have your CG set at? I tried to balance it according the the instructions and even with a ZDZ 60 and batteries in the front, it still comes out tail heavy? I did put the elevator servos in the rear, mainly because I needed the room in the middle compartment for the smoke setup.
I wonder what the "real" CG envelope is for this airplane?
Jim!

Hi Jim, I think you are talking about the 84 inch gaint stinger. I am flying one with a G62 and B&B smoke. My CG is 6 inchs back from the leading edge and it flys real good there. I would say that the CG runs from 5 1/2 to maybe 6 1/2 from the leading edge. At 6 1/2 back might be a handful to fly. I have not tryed it. At 6 inchs it will fly inverted with less than 1/8 inch of down elevator. Hope this helps you.Wayne M

Thanks Wayne for the feedback. The G62 is a little heavier than the ZDZ 60, so I may compensate by putting a larger battery up front. RIght now I have a 4000mah lipo, but can replace it with a 3000mha NiCad which will weight a bit more and help to balance the airplane better.
It helps to get some feedback from people who are actually flying the airplane where the usable CG actually is.
