Carl Goldberg Sukhoi ARF: Hear from owners
Considering this ARF kit for next project.
I would like to know:
1. Flying reviews.
2. Suggested engines.
3. Any flaws in design from a flying or building standpoint.

Nice flying plane, neutral and forgiving w/ no bad habits. Had an OS 160 2-stroke in mine which was a nice (though not overpowered) combo.
My only complaint is that the ARF builds out about 1.5lbs heavier than the old kit version which at this scale is significant.
Oh, the only mod I felt necessary was to cut a 3/4" deep moon-shaped relief on top of cowl to facilitate fuse hatch removal.

Yup, a very nice model. Definitely needs more engine than called for, however. Mine was marginal with a Laser 150 four stroke. A fellow club member has the OS 1.60 in his; plenty of grunt there.
The only gripe I had was with that cheesy plastic tail fairing. Everything else, including the hardware, was exemplary.
If I had need of model that size, I'd buy another one of these in a heartbeat.
