CMP Giles 202 90 ... Who has one?
I just received the CMP Giles 202 90 size/65" from AK Models. It's seems to be failry well built for $149 and shipping was free. Does anyonw have any building/flying suggestions or tips. I plan on placing a Super Tiger 90 up front and find away to attach a Mac's or Tower muffler. Appreciate any feedback!

RE: CMP Giles 202 90 ... Who has one?
Greetings.
Recently bought a G202 from AK as well. (My first CMP)
The model parts are uniformly made and fit up very well. As usual, the covering will be replaced and some modifications are planned.
This model, with the long canopy, looks more like the G-300.
The hardware will be replaced with GP stuff.
The wheels will be Dubro 3 1/4"
Wing tips will be added.
Fuel tank will be (16) ounce Sullivan round.
The landing gear is already replaced with one from the GP Super Stearman 1.20 with the plastic hammered off and painted.
The tail wheel bracket is Dubro with a GP 1 1/4" wheel.
Attachment of the landing gear strut and wing is with 1/4-20 nylon screws.
Haven't yet figured out how to attach the GP engine mount without altering the engine box.
The fin and rudder size are exaggerated and the horizontal stab is under size. Both will be proportionately reconstructed and with the frivolous counterbalances removed.
An old Magnum 1.08 XL with a Bisson muff will provide the power to an APC 16 x 6 prop behind a SIG spinner. (The basic model weighs in at four pounds, so a .90 2-stroke cycle engine is plenty enough power.)
I expect it to be in the air in six weeks, considering I'm just now finishing a custom Dragon Lady. (maiden in 3 days)
Good Luck to you.

RE: CMP Giles 202 90 ... Who has one?
How did the 90 CMP Giles fly?
I am thinking of a mount for my OS 1.20 FS.
I have not found any thread on the 90 size. Alot of info on the 140 size. I can't go that big due to noise restrictions at my field.
Bring me up to date on the performance of this bird.
Thanks.
