Hello all,
Well I am trying to decide on my first warbird. I have pretty much decided between the Kyosho Spitfire or the Kyosho Bf109. I am currently leaning towards the 109 as I love german aircraft from WWII, especially the 110 and 111 to bad there aren't any ARFs of either. I flew a GP P51D ARF today and was able to take off do some rolls and loops and low fly bys and of coarse land with no troubles. So does anyone have any other suggestions or comments on any those two Kyosho models or maybe a suggestion on another model? I hope this all made sense and thanks.

My first Warbird was the World Models P-51. I would recommend this plane to anyone. I also have a Kyosho Spit, and although it flies great, the P-51 was a better airplane.
The Kyosho planes have printed sticky back covering that is NOT completely fuel proof. They look pretty darn good at about 10 feet, but the covering starts to lift up after a bit, and is hard to get stuck back down. The World Mustang costs a tad more, but does come with mechanical Retracts, a Pilot, and a few other goodies that you don't get with a kyosho kit.
As long as you've flown some sort of intermediate tail dragger plane, I don't think you would have trouble flying either of the planes above.
I had a Modeltech Me-109, and it did not compare to the kyosho or World ARFs.

Yes I would stay away from this plane.
It actually looks pretty good, but didn't fly all that well. It took off, and landed nice, but loved to snap out of loops, and turns if you used too much elevator.
If you backed the throws down so it wouldn't snap you had very little throw.
I ended up giving it away. (that tells you how much I liked it).
I can't remember too many specifics, but there were quite a few weird things with the assembly process I didn't like. For some reason it took me an awfullly long time getting this thing ready to fly.

Well I went ahead and ordered the Kyosho Bf109 model. I was at the local hobby shop and saw the awesome looking Kyosho Gee Bee ARF and decided that I wanted a Kyosho model(the shop also had the GP Stuka and I might get that next). I can't wait to get the model here and start putting it togehter. I must say my main reason for staying away from the P-51 is the fact that I have seen a lot of them and want something that is different from everyone else. Well I will keep everyone posted during my building and eventual flying of the Bf109.
