Phoenix Models Decathlon muffler...
Hi, I mounted the engine in the mount and checked the muffler. The exhaust exit is too high to clear the gases out the bottom of the plane. Do I add a muffler extension? I tried a deflector before and it made it impossible to adjust the engine to run properly so I removed it. Or maybe I could make a fiber glass delector that attaches to the fuselage??[8D]

I have the Seagull decathlon. I bought a pits style muffler for mine. Seems to work well. It might be easier for you though since you are already set up to get an extention.

I never thought about a pitts. The engine mount is at an angle which puts the standard muffler hanging straight down. If it was lower then it would be perfect. I may just move the engine mount so that the engine is sideways and use a pitts like you are doing.
