Goldberg Ultimate and O.S. 1.20 AX
Am working on getting the CG Ultimate. Would love to have a YS 110 on the nose but because of cost, am leaning toward 2 stroke power. O.S. 120AX seems in the ballpark of 30-some-odd ounces with pipe. Has anyone flown the CG Ulti with this combo?????? want serious power..lol.. Thanks,

I don't have the Ultimate but I am flying the Seagull Laser 200 with the OS 120AX on the business end and the power is amazing. I'm running an APC 17X6 prop and it seems to be a nice match for the plane and engine.

I have a buddy who flew one for years with a OS 1.08 two stroke. This was before 3D was really popular. Needless to say vertical was unlimited. If the 1.20 is in the ballpark on overall weight I would say it's a good combo. Maybe you sould put two elev servos in the tail to balance it?

Mines got a OS 90 2 stoke flies great. A 1.20 seems like overkill. They build really light and fly great till you start loading them up with weight.

The one I have also has a 90 two stroke. It is not enough motor to hang on the prop. At least not low to the ground. It needs about 90% throttle with a 14x6APC. The pullout is not great. If you want to sport fly the 90 is perfect. I guess I should have ask what kind of flying the poster wanted to do.
Is the new Saito 1.25 much more money than the 1.20 + pipe? It would be my first choice.

I have a Saito 1.25 ready to go into mine when it gets here. They are on backorder right now. I am wondering if it will have unlimited vertical with this engine at 3000 ft. and temperature at 95 F.

I have a Goldberg's Ultimate which I built from a kit. I powered mine with a YS 120, which gives me more than enough power to do any aerobatic and 3D manuvers. Some say its over kill, but I like the additional power. I fly at half throttle with no problem. Its a great combo but Ys engines like lots of YS20/20 fuel.
Great flying plane. Very manuverable. Easy to land when not windy.
