Hello there!
I was wondering if anyone could help me. I was wondering if there was any organizations set up for helping handicapped kids get started with r/c flying. Here is the situation.... My wife works for a company here in town called Bridges. They work with the physically and mentally handicapped. My wife has this client whom we'll call "Joe". He is paralysed from the waist down. At only 16 he has no friends outside of my wife, and now me. This kid is a saint. One day we were going through some of my pictures and he came across one with my first r/c plane in it. He asked me about it and I told him how I built it and after a couple months worth of work flew it, crashed it, rebuilt it, and flew it again. I pulled out some more pictures of my other planes. All of my planes I lost in a garage fire, along with other stuff. I have not been able to rebuild my fleet but will be starting soon. Anyhow after I told him that I had lost my planes he said he would love to build, and fly a plane. Now poses the problem. Due to his parents inability to buy a plane he had to give up that goal. I would like to know if you guys no of any organization that helps handicapped individuals obtain flying gear. I will be saving up in the meantime to help him. If anyone can help me find someone that can help, and with "Joe's" permission, I can prove the situation. Thanks a million.

Have you tried the AMA They have some programs that would help. Next try the local Masonic temple in your town. If you will contact the Masonic Shrine people I am sure you will get some response . Probably more than you ever thought of.
