Default Crash & Burn

Sorry MalaysianFlyer,

Ya' I hope that doesn't spread like a virus. I broke-in the FX 46 yesterday....too windy to fly though, we are having 30mph winds with a severe cold front....

The remote glow-plug needed work...but its ready!!!

Maybe next week..

Thanks guys, unfortunately I have only myself to blame.

It was a silly loss of concentration, I actually stood there watching the plane go down from like 200feet and just looked at it without thinking. That will teach me to pay more attention, especially when I am flying inverted.

Way to go Cappie, hope the virus stays far away from you, and also the weather clears up, am looking forward to hearing good things about your maiden flight.

DFMAN, yeah that size does sound good, one of the things that went wrong also was that I let the model get too far away and was difficult to see. However, how aerobatic is the VMAR version? Anyone pushed the envelope with it yet?

Default To glass or not to glass?

Gee this thing seems to be really aerobatic with only a 46! Im wondering if I should glass my wing joint with the MVVS 60 up front? What do you guys think? From nown on Ill use fibrepoxy on my ARF wing joins, its epoxy mixed with glassfibre BTW: If I do glass the join how do I hide it under the wing tape, its about an inch wide?

PS: Check out the new vmar spitfire, looks like theyve improved again?

Default Twisted Rudder

DF MAN,

Try a cover iron, warm up the wood good and lay something heavy on top of it so that it is flat for a long time...

I have exprienced some bent ailerons and they will flaten out to some extent...

DFMAN,

Do you still have any of the scraps of covering cut off from the pushrod holes for example? Test the iron on low heat on those to see if there is a serious effect. If worse comes to worse, you may have to strip the covering, straighten and re-cover, but lets hope it doesn't go that far.

I think Cappies idea is probably the best solution, so hopefully you did not throw away the scrap covering. ( I dont throw away anything till I have finished construction)

Hope you get it sorted out.

Default Pilatus PC-9, VMAR or Seagull?

My husband bought me a Pilatus PC-9 back in September. The only thing that I can say bad about it, is the fact that one of the ailerons were bent. As far as the covering goes, to me it is about as good as any of the ARF's we have put together, even recently.

It is the first low wing that I have ever flown, other than getting use to how much faster it was than any of our other airplanes, I absolutely love it !
