I test flew my new 72" Edge 540 ARF model today - Engine died about 30 seconds into the flight and I had a very quick introduction into forced landings with my new toy.. fortunatly I had plenty of height and was in a good position so landing wasn't really a problem.
But anyway - I fly off a grass strip, at the moment the grass beyond the strip is pretty long and causes problems when the strip moves when you are coming in for landing (this always happens to me - don't know why??) One of these problems is ripping wheel spats off...
The plane i was flying today is obviously designed to be flown off a sealed runway or concrete... (or short grass strip if you can find it) My question is: How do you attach wheel spats so they will stay attached?? I put them on as per the instructions but they are only attached at one side and are very flimsy..
Does anyone have pictures of a good method for long grass strips? or people who do chineese landings (one hung low) - no offence to any chineese people out there..
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers
