Where to find a 60 size F4U Corsair ARF
As the subject states, Does anybody know where I can find a good quality F4U Corsair ARF. For some reason I can only find Corsairs in Kits and Currently I don't have all of the needed tools to build a kit.
Thanks

Jamara F4U Corsair 60 ARF
Funny I should read your message. I am currently building a 60-90 sized 1:8 scale F4U Corsair ARF from Jamara. I got this ARF off of eBay. I'm not sure who distributes these in the US, but I'm sure a web search on Jamara or an eBay search on Corsair would pop a couple up. You might also check VQ Models --- I can NOT wait for their upcoming P-38 Lightning ARF!

http://www.giantscaleplanes.com/Corsair_76.htm This one looks great.......I just saw that on the review pages here on RCU.
Might be larger than what youde want though, just a thought.

Thanks for the replies. I definately have some more home work to do to find one.
Dave, are you happy with that Jamara Kit? Is it built pretty good?
Thanks

Jamara Corsair
Hi Kev,
I think it's one of the better built ARFs I've seen. Looks like they used wood glue instead of CA.. (odd for an ARF?) .. I assume this because I see residue along the runners and sheeting. It does not come with retracts, but I'm flying from a bumpy grass field so that's ok by me. No flaps or cockpit is included. All hardware is metric, but is high quality. I would definitely buy another Jamara.
Hope this helps... Dave

Jamara Corsair 60
I've recently gotten one... made about 20 flights so far. Lovely!
Despite the grave warnings on how an inverted gull-wing model might (mis) behave, I found the Jamara Corsair a real *****cat to fly, and makes beautiful, shallow and slow landing approaches with light touch-down on mains... beautifully scale!
I attribute this to its very light wing loading as the model is fully balsa, except the cowl. Build quailty is OK, not bulletproof, but OK. Mine can't really do aerobatics, and only manages slow rolls, tight loops (any bigger and she'll just flop over the top) and the usual combat manoeuveurs like split-S'es. Low passes are easy-peasy, very stable & sounds really great. My Corsair specs:
Engine : ASP 91 four-stroke
TX : Futaba 6AS
Pros : Great scale flight characteristics, nice profile, inexpensive!
Cons : Dumpy looking covering and decals, very thin fibreglass cowl, no provision for engine cooling outlets, and... German instructions sheet!
I'd re-painted and detailed it as much as I practically could, using Tamiya spray paints (USN 3-color scheme), Top Flight dull coat for fuel-proofing, decals from SIG, some custom-cut vinyl numerals and Japanese kill marks!
