Default Fuel proof covering.

I watched my friend wipe off his plane today at the field and he wound up with a colored towel.
He explained that the covering was from Germany and they didn't use nitro in their fuel. I suppose the Nitro is the agent that removes the color.
I have just completed my Cap 232. it's covering is beautiful (Vmar ARF) i think this covering was from Germany. Do I have a problem if I use 15% nitro fuel?????????????

do u know wht type of covering was used. for an example monokote, towerkote, whtever sig makes kote, ultrakote. All those i know for a fact are fuel proof. wht other type of fuel are used?i did not know that nitro engines could not use nitro. the reason nitro is used is becuase of the fuel ignition point is at the right point. also like 20% oil is usually used to lubricate internal engine parts.

Robert,

I'm not sure if the covering came from Germany or Austria. In either case, the color (red as you know) bleeds off. Also, it's a bugger to remove and the color stains the underlaying wood. I received a partial roll when I got the plane. After finding out how this covering reacts, I tossed the partial roll.
