I just saw this on the H-9 site!

And what is REALLY nice is that it is set up for either glow or electric out of the box.

Thanks for listening to the crowd H-9. I will be getting this one.

Interesting. I would like to see one a little larger though. Maybe 75" to 80".

61" is a bit small for a .60. My GP Dr 1 is 60", but has three weings, and the largest engine recommended was a .60 two stroke or .80 four stroke, I have a .91 four stroke. The cowling is the same size as a bowling ball.

The wing area is large enough though. Wish it was 1/4 scale to go with my DR1, but I'll suffer.

Power will be a BME .90 gasser. That's if Santa will let me have one this year.

Hey Jerry,

Are those things as hard to fly as RealFlight would lead you to believe ? I love those WWI birds, very pretty aircraft but I have stayed away because of the nose-over stuff.

I'm flying a 1/4 scale Tiger Moth currently and the only problem with them is that they fly so slow No vertical maneuvers for these And landing are a breeze - they touch down and stop shortly after. No nose over problems with the two I've flown.

Move the CG back some on the sim and most of that nose over problem should go away. My Fokker DR-1 will nose over only on landing if there is a good crosswind, otherwise no problems.

I just went and looked at all the pics again. Sure looks nice. Mine will get the nose painted red just like Waldo Peppers. ( I've been good enough this year. Santa might see things my way.)

Engine Size: Glow version: Evolution .61NT 2-stroke; Saito FA-91 4-stroke
This is just begging for a Saito .90 three cylinder radial!

Sweeeeeet!

I agree that ARFing a Camel borders on sacrilege, but I'm really diggin' the way H9 is thinkin' with this one. E-power or IC power designed in, an honest attempt at making it look scale, a nice size for electric power that won't break the bank and encourages more folks to try e-conversion, and a very decent offering price to boot.

What I'm curious to see is how they've solved the balance problem that making it electric will almost surely create.

This one is on my list now too. Durnit.

Bill, I congratulate you for sticking to your guns....As I am not a very good builder, WWI planes are out of my realm in most cases. I admire those with the ability to turn a pile of balsa into a plane, it is a little more difficult than turning a plane into a pile of balsa, the latter I can do. Cut me a litle slack and let me share the wonder and ejoyment of WWI and Classic R/C flying, even if it means letting me fly an ARF... Promise I won't do it where you can see me....Happy Flying...Cliff

I think it's about time somebody "ARF'd" the Camel!
There are D-VII's and DR-1's, etc. etc. why not a Camel?!

I would love to have a Sopwith Triplane ARF...wouldn't that be cool to dogfight w/ a DR-1?

It would take some patience and skill to build a nice scale one. Check this out. Wish it was mine.

The way to become a good builder is practice, practice, practice. Cutting and running means that you never learn to build, and you will always have to fly ARF's. (operative word here is have-to). Nothing wrong with owning an ARF, It's just that they leave me with an empty feeling. Kind of like riding a mo-ped. It might make you grin, but would you want your friends to see you doing it?
