Great Planes Venus 40
Can anybody tell me anything good or bad about this plane? Anyone own or flown one? I did a search and all the threads were about 3 years old, wanted a more present opinion about this plane. Is it pretty aerobatic?

I have one with an OS 50 and Tower muffler. Plenty of power, sensitive, stable. excellent aerobatic platform. Not a 3D aircraft. Good pattern primer. Easy to land need rudder to controll
take off and vertical lines. Possibley needs a bit more right thrust with my engine, prop.

Saito 72 or the OS 70 would be perfect for it, the saito more so since it is lighter.
I have one that isn't flying right now because it's simply been flown to shreds...various tank problems have started the covering on the front of the model to separate from the wood. I need to recover it or something.
I flew mine with a magnum 61 4 stroke and while not a power house I was able to do very nice patterns and had pretty respectible vertical. It's a really fantastic plane and the only real complaint I have is that the tank is designed to be too high for a reliable inverted engine setup (what the recommend). It's irritating but typical of ARFs, they never really put the tank in the right place. I ended up putting the engine on its side but that looked like crap comparted to the inverted setup. Some engines can handle a tank that high but most cant. The ideal motor I think would be a YS63 4 stroke. 2 Strokes make it really fast and it just doesn't look as good goind mach 1.
Great plane, man you can't go wrong with it.

Probably somewhere around 13x6, 7 or 8.
I flew with a 13x6 on my 61 and that might be just a little over propped for that engine.
I've got another fuselage and I'm planning on using the wing I have and just starting over with the fuse.
DONT USE THE STOCK TANK! it'll split pretty much right away.
