Default rcxpress? anyone heard of them

Anyone ever heard of www.rcxpress.com? I ordered a plane from them last Wednesday but I haven’t gotten any tracking number or an e-mail saying that the kit has been shipped. I tried to call them several times but would only get an answering machine. Has anyone ordered from them or did I just get ripped off?

No, but it looks legit to me. Maybe it's just because of the holidays and lousy customer service. Let us know the outcome.
Good luck.

I just tried your link, got a dead URL...

Might be time to start worrying.

I just bought a 46FX on ebay. "Almost new" turned out to be "used and abused". Don't you just hate getting ripped off!

Now it works, so you may not be in bad shape after all.

I would be interested to know how it turns out, because they look like an interesting new company.

Let us know!!

Default The latest

Well it has now been eleven days and still no plane. I have tried to call them ten times and gotten an actual person twice. I have e-mailed them and gotten no reply. I called this past Tuesday and the guy said it had shipped out that morning so I looked at UPS.com and it said that it takes two days to ship from rcxpress's zip to my zip. Today is Friday and still no plane and no tracking number. I'm in the process of contacting my credit card company to see if the plane was ever even charged. If it was and the plane is not here by Tuesday of next week (two and a half weeks after ordering) then I'll be contacting the better business bureau). Anyway that is the latest.

At least you talked to someone. Sounds promising.

Well, here is the latest. I called last Monday (1/6/03) and talked to someone. He said that the kit would ship Tuesday (1/7/03) and be here within two days. So I said “that sounds great thanks”. I called Tuesday to see if it had been shipped and he said “yes, it went out this morning”. So, I thought I would have it a least by Friday. Friday roles around and still no plane so guess what….I called back. The guy I talked to this time said “It went out Tuesday 1/7/03 so you should be seeing it there soon”. Today (Sunday 1/12/03) I check my e-mail and this is what I found:

Thank you for your email. Your order will be shipped on 1/13/02 via Federal Express Ground. We appreciate your patience and we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
Thanks,

I am anything but happy. I sent a reply to tell them I wonted to cancel the order but I’m sure they will not reply. Tomorrow I’m calling and trying to cancel it. I hope no one is thinking about ordering from them. I placed the order on 12/30/02 and it is now 1/13/03 and it is just now being shipped.

Yea... the kit shipped Tuesday...it shipped to them on Tuesday. After they receive it they will ship to you.
I'm losing my patience and it's not even my stuff.

I would call your credit card company and cancel the charge. I don't remember how long you have to cancel but there is a time limit. I agree that it is unacceptable. At the very least I would demand the shipping charge back. Good luck

Default Where are they really?

I looked up hobby shops for that area code and found one called Hobby Express with the same address, but different phone number.

Hobby Xpress Inc (517) 768-1777
916 N West Ave
Jackson, MI 49202

Is Michigan really in the Eastern Time Zone?

Hobby express and rc express are apparently the same place. I called this morning and the kit has been charged to the card so I called rc express again to find out the latest and they said that it shipped out on Friday but was charged to my card on Tuesday. So now they have said it went out on Tuesday, Friday, and Monday. I'm thinking they run a real tight ship . The guy gave me a tracking number this time but it didn't work. He said that it takes Fed Ex 48 hours to enter the tracking number and since it was sent on Friday, it would be later today before it would work. I thought that Friday through Monday was more than 48 hours .

My map program will list businesses within areas. It doesn't necessarily list ALL businesses, but here are the ones listed for that address:

* City Nail
Telephone: 517-768-9145
Blimpie Sub & Salads
Telephone: 517-787-8400
American General Finance
Telephone: 517-789-7116
Check-N Go of Michigan
Telephone: 517-768-7000

Sure hope it isn't using the Check-N Go as a drop address.

I'm sure it's a legitimate business. One of the reasons online stores can be cheaper is because they don't carry any inventory. When they receive and order, they place an order with a warehouse. The hobby shop probably has someone telling them the same bull they are passing on. Just for self assurance, I think I'd drop a dime to maybe the Blimpy's and ask if there was a hobby store in the area. Might also want to email them a link to this post so they know their credibility is in question. Bad publicity can't be good of any online store. I hope they are legit and make a serious effort to redeem themselves.

Thanks a lot for all the replies. The tracking number works now and it appears that the kit was shipped out today (Monday) and will be here Wednesday. Well, I'm happy that it actually shipped and that I wasn't ripped off. However, I will NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN. It took them over three weeks to actually even ship the kit. A lesson well learned and since over 300 people have seen this post maybe they will see how sorry www.rcxpress.com really is. Thanks again for all the input and help.
