RE: Sig Sundancer 50
I just finished mine last weekend. I used an OS 70 in mine. It balanced right on the mark without adding any weight. A 70 is plenty of power for this plane. I may maiden mine tomorow.

The only thing I changed was Rubber tires & I replaced the phillips head strut screws with 3mm socket head screws. Everything else I used from the kit. My only complaint is the paint on my cowl & landing gear chips off easly. I sent Sig an email about this but have not heard back from them yet.

I,m having trouble getting my OS 70 SurpassII to run with the glow heat removed. I,ve tried to lean it out & it makes no difference. I mounted it inverted. Anybody else having this problem?. Thanks

RE: Sig Sundancer 50
Well I finally maidened mine today. Fired up the OS 70, Lined her up, advanced the throttle & off we go. Got it up a mistake high checked for trim. A few clicks of up & right & she was flying straight & level. I'm thinking to myself this thing is easy to fly. Did a couple of loops, tracking was perfect. OK time to try a roll & on low rates, it rolls very fast. The motor is new so I didn't really open it up. Flying inverted is effortless & it hangs in there very well. Now my favorite thing to do, land. This thing is just too easy to land, what a pleasure. I kept 1/4 throttle in it during the approach because 2 wings create a lot of drag. There is nothing difficult about landing this plane period!, its a keeper for sure. I did need to keep a little up elevator on takeoff to keep it from nosing over. I did bend the tail wheel bracket a little so the tail wasn't so high up & ground handeling was great. The last time I flew it I put the elevator on high rate & it snapped a little during a loop , I put it back on low rates & no problem. Next time i fly it I'll back the high rates off a little. Thanks SIG this bipe is a winner & it looks so good in the air. If you've been thinking about getting this plane go for it & you,ll see what i mean.

I've had one for about a year also with an OS .70 four stroke. Flys really well. The thing I like best is that it fits in the car assembled. Have about 50 flites....no problems.

I've had the Sundancer in the air since July 2006. I fly in the altitude 6200 ft. I have a Irvine .61 in mine, swinging a APC 12x6. It's just enough power for the altitude loss. Not unlimited vertical, but good power. See my review on RCU. I starting swinging a 13x6, not quite enough rpms. I went to a 12x6, much better. I generally beef up the construction on all my ARF's. This plane came in exactly 1 pound over weight (7 lbs). This is a great plane! Flies great, performs great, lands even better..... She floats in like a trainer. I haven't tried it with the engines you are suggesting and haven't had any other experience with them. You might want to try what I did and not mount the engine inverted for ease of starting & so on. Experiment with the fit like I did and make your own choice. I hope this helps anyway?

Flies great! Lands even better. Floats in like a trainer. Fully aerobatic! However mine pulls to the belly when I knife edge. Can't seem to find correction for it. No biggie, I just give it a little up elevator when knife edging. I would buy another one if I needed to! The paint does chip easily & the cover doesn't stick real well. Use the pin stripping detailing like they suggest, it helps keep the edges down & sealed. Looks pretty good that way too. Good Luck, they are fun. You might want to check out couple of pictures of mine in my gallery here on RCU.

You may be right im not a good judge of fast. I had a saito 72 on it, but all i have now is saito 100 and 125s so that may have been an unfair statement.
