Four Star 40 or Tiger 2.
Im going with either these two. Both would be ARF. The power will be a thunder tiger pro 46 swinging a 11x6. hitecs all the way around. I just need a plane that i charge and fly no worrys. speed is fun but not important and aerobtics is important. I am a experienced flyer and if i go with the four star i have flown tail dragger. so which one?

RE: Four Star 40 or Tiger 2.
Well i just got back from the field with my Tiger 2 and it seems to please me every time flight after flight!..It flys so straight and is extremely agile in the air!! i havent flown a four star so i dont really know how it flys but i wouldnt go any other way than my tiger..this plane is really great!! ive got a Saito 56 on mine which gives it plenty of power..im sure that TT 46 would work great..ive got hitec gear as well.....A couple mods on mine was that i made it a taildragger and made dual aileron servos...well hope this helps...let me know if u got any other questions about it!

I fly a buddy's 4Star a lot. I have a Tiger2 and fly it a lot. I like the Tiger better.
I planned to use the Tiger as an engine mule, but have wound up flying it most of the time. And the models that got the engines the Tiger broke in are gathering dust, for the most part. I like the sucker.
You will not be getting a slow airplane with the Tiger, btw. It's ain't a plyon racer, but mine keeps up with about everything that flies at our field. I do have an OS46AX on it, but usually fly an 11.25x5 prop.

Both are very good planes so basically do you want a trike or a tail dragger? Personally I believe that it's uncivilized for a prop driven plane to have a nose gear - but that's just my opinion.

well if i go the tiger it would be trike and the four star or course would be tail dragger. But i have a question what will it take to make the tiger a tail dragger cause if it's not hard ill go with the tiger.

I have flown these planes and the 4 star is more of a trainer than the tiger if the tiger is setup right it can realy slow down for the landings. I found the tiger to be very acurate and cappable of flying in windyer weather than the 4 star If you want a slower flyer thats a tad more forgiving than the 4 star is it, Ive built and flows both the 40 size and the 60 size Tiger and love them both but the CG is very critcle on them if they are nose heavy they will come in faster than you want and you wont have a lot of elevator authority durring the flair Im sorry i dont have the spec for the cg we ussed as I no longer have the planes or the plans Just use the rear most allowable cg and you will be happyer. Its funny you want to make it a tail drager. The man that I built the Tiger for Ive begged him to make it a tail dragger. Putting a pice of plywood in the bottom of the plane and bolting a gear set to it is a brease adding a tail wheel is also a snap.

Hey
Thought I would stick my 2 cents in here ! I had a Four star and I did not like it
BOUNCE BOUNCE BOUNCE on landings. MAybe 2 out of 10 would be perfect landings
It always made me nervous I always thought it was my flying till I got a Ultrastick
and then perfect landings everytime. I talked to other 4 Star owners who complained of the
same problem.... So theres my 2 cents worth

I've flown both and, of the two, I prefer the Tiger by a great margin. However, I ahve a question for you. Have you considered the Sky Raider Mach II or the LA racer also by World models. They both fly GREAT and land very smooth in any wind.
With symetrical air foils, not only do they fly better inverted than the 4* or the Tiger, they are also capable of flying the full pattern.
And with the 'raider, you can get 2 for the price of either the Tiger 2 or the 4*40 ARF!
