Default Airborne Models P-51 Mustang .46 Info

Anyone have an electronic copy of owners manual to send me? I just ordered one for my club's warbird race and I would like to read up.

Thanks

I've had a few of them plus the GS. My current one has a Saito 100 in the nose. Been their a coupl eyears. Flys good. I have build a few of these for buddies. On all of them, they wanted 61fx up front and I will say that is an excellent combination along with a 11/7apc.

Retracts are good. Struts are questionable. If you can't land good, you'll bend them frequently. Darn nice flying plane. The Dago Red is also in the same class. Could be a coin toss actually. Dago has a fiberglass Fuse

Great flying planes... Raced the Mustang with a 61.fx in it... What a blast... Had a Dago Red with a Saito .72 in it also... Great combo and great flyer... Sold the Dago after a couple of years... One suggestion... Pull the retracts and epoxy the landing gear mounts real good... Keep them from pulling out... Not much to read up on in the manuals... Pretty straight forward build..

So the retracts are junk or not worth the fuss? Never done them before. I have a spare channel and the retract servo.

No, the retracts are not junk... I have flown mine many years with the retracts... All depends on your landing surface and skills...

I have several planes with retracts. You need to add extra strength to the mounting blocks and the immdieate rib area. I usually just mix up some epoxy and milled fiberglass and just slop it in and around allthe corners . Most retract blocks are just kind of tacked in their.

this should get you the instructions! good luck! it's a fine bird. the retracts are okay. we flew off tarmac and the struts are soft but they stayed in the wing without any problems.... just needing the occasional bending :-)
